Breastfeeding Clinic

Dr. Moira Haggarty is a breastfeeding medicine physician at Harbourview Family Health team. Her services are covered by OHIP.

Notice May 29th 2025:

Dr. Haggarty’s breastfeeding medicine services are currently unavailable as she is on maternity leave, with anticipated return in January 2026. There is unfortunately no physician available with similar training to fill in during this time.

No new referrals nor followup appointments are available at this time.

In the interim, families seeking breastfeeding support in Thunder Bay can connect with a local lactation consultant, available at TBRHSC Maternity Centre, TBDHU Lactation Clinic or Norwest CHC.

For patients willing to travel to see a board-certified breastfeeding medicine physician, such for tongue-tie exam / frenotomy, families can consider a referral to the Winnipeg Breastfeeding Centre, the International Breastfeeding Centre in Toronto, or Dr. Pooja Prabhu at Maple Kidz Clinic in Vaughn.

During Dr. Haggarty’s leave, she continues to offer eConsult to MDs and NPs in Ontario via OTN in the provincial Breastfeeding Medicine group (under Family Medicine).
